Kimono upcycling is the process of adding new designs and innovations to kimonos that are not worn as much in modern Japan, transforming them into items of greater value than their original state. The kimonos used by our brand are all vintage and one-of-a-kind pieces. Each one has a history of over 50 years, ranging from kimonos that have been sleeping in the back of an old folk house's chest to those that have been inherited from friends but are no longer worn. We aim to rescue these kimonos, breathe new 'life' into them as part of our brand's fashion, and pass them on to women around the world.
It is 100% silk. Silk is a very smooth and pleasant material to the touch, which easily creates a glossy appearance and gives a luxurious finish. Additionally, due to its low thermal conductivity, it keeps you cool in summer and warm in winter, and its moisture retention makes it less prone to static electricity. Many people gain confidence and can behave with dignity when wearing silk fabrics, and its noble atmosphere makes it likely for them to be regarded with respect by others.
It takes approximately two weeks from order to product arrival. Also, the confirmation of the order details and preparation for shipping are only conducted on business days. Our business days are Monday to Friday in Japan Time, so please be aware of this in advance. Additionally, we will share a tracking number after shipping, so please check it.
All of our products are handmade, so there may be one-of-a-kind items depending on the materials used. However, for some products, the creator may produce multiple items in the same design, so please check the stock quantity of the items you wish to order. If you would like to order multiple items in the same design or different colors, please send us a message through the inquiry.
Since our brand products are made with silk, we recommend dry cleaning when washing. Alternatively, you may hand wash at home, followed by a short spin cycle and air drying. Please refrain from washing in a washing machine or at a laundromat.
It is possible. However, we can only accept orders for different materials and patterns of the currently sold design. After consulting with you about your desired kimono color and pattern, we will search for a fabric that matches your image, and our creator will create it with care. The completion will take about one to two months. Please feel free to contact us for inquiries.
